A sophisticated concrete pool with a timeless finish
Designed as a contemporary addition to this Nelson home, the Vista Drive concrete pool combines strong architectural lines with sophisticated, understated finishes.
At 7m x 3.5m, the pool provides generous space for swimming, relaxing and entertaining, while the graduated depth of 1.3m to 1.6m creates a comfortable swimming environment for the family.
The pool interior was finished by Oceania Pool Interiors New Zealand using a Galaxy Ultra Smooth Quartz Pool Render, creating a refined surface that complements the darker tones throughout the surrounding outdoor space.
A black CTL ceramic waterline tile band and matching step tiles add definition to the pool, while the dark finish creates a striking contrast against the water.
The pool is framed with Urban Paving Granite Paver – Flamed Black, using 600 x 600 x 20mm pavers to create a clean, contemporary coping detail. The generous-format pavers reinforce the architectural feel of the design while providing a seamless connection between the pool and surrounding outdoor living area.
Functionality was just as important as aesthetics. A hidden pool cover and thermal blanket, paired with a London Underground Reel 4100mm, helps retain heat and provides a discreet solution when the pool is not in use.
The pool also features a Naked Fresh Water Pool System with pH controller, providing automated water treatment and helping maintain clean, balanced pool water with minimal day-to-day intervention.
Even the finer details have been considered, including the Aquea V-Lock V20 skimmer lid, finished with an inlay to complement the surrounding paving.
The finished result is a sophisticated, low-maintenance outdoor space where contemporary design, considered materials and practical pool technology come together seamlessly.
