Aquanort Pools Proud to Support the New Whale Trail

The Whale Trail has officially launched in Marlborough, opening a stunning new way to explore the region’s coastlines, vineyards, bush, and townships. Among the trail’s many supporters is Aquanort Pools — a local, family-owned business with deep roots in the Marlborough Sounds and a strong connection to the area’s whaling history.

For the Norton whānau, whose heritage stretches back to Picton and Te Awaiti in the Tory Channel, supporting the Whale Trail is both a nod to the past and an investment in a more sustainable future. Their recent Swimming Pool Climate Care Certification reflects this commitment, aligning perfectly with the trail’s focus on low-impact recreation and environmental responsibility.

“As we became Climate Care Certified, it was a natural time to reflect on our carbon footprint and the ways we can give back — not just to the environment, but to our community. The Whale Trail does both,” says Greg Norton, owner of Aquanort Pools.
Aquanort Pools joins Tourism Marlborough, local iwi, councils, and other community-minded partners in helping bring this vision to life — creating a place where history, sustainability, and adventure meet.
